"Fortunately, not all were tension filled flights and we had time to see some of the marvellous sights that our layovers provided. Possibly our most frequent visits were spent in Singapore and Bangkok. Ken Wolinski and I crawled over and through hundreds of the temples that abound in Thailand. Several of the temples supported schools and museums and some of the exhibits were spell binding. We had our photographs taken with endless Buddhist monks who are reputed to have no money but we contributed to disclaiming that fanciful fallacy. I enjoyed the snake farm where venom is extracted from King Cobras. Over several visits I did not see the same faces of those courageous enough to milk these reptiles. I was told they were shift workers although this was delivered with a wry grin. It took little imagination to determine the reason for the big turnover."
